Marriage Encounter Eastern Canada understands the importance of good marriage preparation for engaged couples. We strongly recommend Engaged Workshop, although not directly associated with our ministry, it is an experience designed to prepare you, both personally and as a couple, on your new or upcoming marriage.
What happens during The Engaged Workshop?
There will be a series of short talks on various aspects of the marriage relationship, each followed by an exercise in which you express yourselves to each other as a couple. It is a time of concentration and effort, an investment in your future together.
Who is the workshop for?
This is for any couple of any age engaged to be married, regardless of whether this be a first or subsequent marriage for either partner. It is also very helpful for newly married couples. Couples of any faith are welcome. The material will be presented from a Christian perspective, but each couple is invited to accept the experience within the context of their own faith.
Who is leading it?
The workshop is led by married couples sharing their lives with you. They are not professionals and are not paid.
How long does it last?
The workshop runs from 7:45 to 10:15 pm on Friday evening and from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm on Saturday. As this workshop is a total process, it is important to attend both parts.
How about lunch?
Lunch is a good time to get to know other couples going through a similar process. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
What does the workshop cost?
A charge of $60.00 per couple covers the cost of refreshments, workshop expenses and helps to support the starting of workshops in new areas. An early registration discount of $10.00 can be applied. Please see registration info in right hand column for details. Advance payment is required, and indicate that cheques are payable to "The Engaged Workshop", and payment can be sent to:
